About Me

Hi, I’m Bethany.

I’m a writer, speaker, and someone who spends a lot of time thinking about people.

Specifically, I’m fascinated by the question of why some people seem energized by the lives they’re living while others feel disconnected from their work, their relationships, or even themselves.

For years, I’ve been exploring that question in my own life.

I’ve built businesses, led large teams, stood on stages, started over, been humbled, changed my mind, and spent countless hours in conversations about purpose, identity, work, and meaning. Along the way, I’ve become less interested in telling people who they should be and more interested in helping them uncover who they already are.

That is the heart of the “Your Magic” framework.

“Your Magic” is simply my process of describing the unique combination of qualities, experiences, perspectives, and gifts that make each person unlike anyone else who has ever lived.

When I’m not working on this professionally, you’ll find me working to live out these questions in the context of everyday life. My husband, Eli, owns his own handyman business, and together we’re raising four kids who keep our calendar full of sports practices, school events, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with family life.

We live on some land outside Kansas City, where we’re slowly learning what it means to care for fruit trees, run a mid-term rental, tackle projects that are bigger than we expected, and build a life that reflects what matters most to us.

My vision is a world where the vast majority of people wake up inspired by the work they get to do and come home feeling fulfilled by the life they’re building. I don’t know exactly how to make that happen, but I believe helping people better understand themselves is part of the answer.

I’ve found that when people begin to understand what makes them uniquely them, they often discover a little more clarity, confidence, and direction than they had before.

Thanks for being here.
